Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention Training

Course Details:

Effective infection prevention and control is essential in every healthcare and care setting. This course gives learners a practical understanding of standard infection control precautions, including hand hygiene, PPE, sharps safety, clinical waste, spillages, equipment decontamination, ANTT and maintaining a clean clinical environment.

The session links everyday IPC practice to patient safety, staff protection and professional accountability. Poor infection control can increase the risk of healthcare-associated infections, outbreaks, avoidable harm and delays in care, so regular training helps teams stay confident, consistent and aligned with current guidance.

UKHSA’s 2023 point prevalence survey found that healthcare-associated infections were present in 7.6% of patients in England, an increase from the last reported survey in 2016
