Risk Management Training for Healthcare Staff

Course Details:

Effective clinical risk assessment and risk management are essential for maintaining patient safety across healthcare and care settings. Poor risk management can lead to avoidable harm, safeguarding concerns, medication errors, falls, reputational damage and regulatory action. This practical course explores clinical risk assessment, positive risk management, documentation, governance frameworks and safer decision-making in practice.

Learners will develop confidence in identifying hazards, reducing risk, balancing safety with independence and understanding legal and professional responsibilities linked to patient safety. The course also explores frameworks including RIDDOR, CQC, NMC guidance and the importance of clear documentation and escalation processes.

In 2023, the NHS recorded over 2 million patient safety incidents reported in England, highlighting the importance of effective clinical risk management and safer systems of care.
