Every day, millions of unpaid carers provide essential support to family members, friends and neighbours who could not manage without them. Whether helping with medication, attending appointments, providing emotional support or assisting with daily activities, carers play a vital role in helping people live safely, independently and with dignity.

Despite the invaluable contribution they make, many carers face significant challenges balancing caring responsibilities alongside work, family life and their own wellbeing. Carers Week (8th - 14th June 2026) is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the dedication, compassion and resilience shown by unpaid carers across our communities.
