What is the UpSkill SCC?
The UpSkill SCC is a highly practical 6-week blended learning programme created for senior healthcare support workers. Over these 6 weeks, we will serve as guides on your staff’s journey to enhance their skills and knowledge base. We are committed to equipping your staff with the proficiency typically associated with registered nurses, empowering them to excel in their role.
Our approach will encompass a blend of structured classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises. Each learner will require a suitably qualified mentor and approximatley 10 hours self directed study, supported in practice.

Mentor Competency Sign Off
To successfully complete this course, it is essential that you assign a mentor to observe your staff's clinical practice in the following areas:
- Measuring Observations
- Catheter Care
- Medication Administration
- Gastrostomy Care incl PEG
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Fundamentals of Stoma Care
- Insulin Administration
- Venepuncture (Phlebotomy)
