Epilepsy affects around 50 million people worldwide, making it one of the most common neurological conditions. This training helps healthcare professionals recognise, respond to, and document seizures safely while promoting dignity and patient-centred care.
The course includes guidance on emergency medication, care planning, and documentation standards in line with NICE and Epilepsy Society guidance. Delivered both face-to-face and virtually, it’s designed to build knowledge, confidence, and professional competence for those supporting individuals with epilepsy.
Every year, approximately 1 in 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), yet most seizures can be safely managed with correct training and awareness. By promoting timely intervention and personalised support, the course helps reduce avoidable harm and enhances outcomes for people living with epilepsy.
