Course Details:

Keeping up to date with immunisation practice is essential to delivering safe, effective care and maintaining public confidence in vaccination.

This Imms and Vaccs Update Training is designed for registered practitioners who have already completed foundation training and are actively delivering vaccines as part of their role. The session reviews the latest UKHSA and NHS England updates, national schedule changes, and guidance around co-administration, contraindications, and informed consent.

Led by an experienced Registered Nurse immunisation specialist, the course creates space for discussion and reflection, helping practitioners interpret new developments, share real-world challenges, and strengthen their ability to give accurate, evidence-based advice to patients and families.

National data show that childhood vaccine uptake has stalled or fallen, with one-year-old coverage at just 92% and two-year-old rates dipping below 90% in some areas. Every percentage point drop exposes more children to serious, preventable diseases, which is why up to date training for vaccinators is so crucial.

Learning Outcomes: Imms & Vaccs Update Training for GPNs

This nurse-led, CPD-accredited clinical training builds on basic vaccine knowledge and focuses on delivering all UK vaccination programmes, including childhood immunisations. Key content includes:

  • Communicate confidently with patients, parents, and guardians to promote vaccine confidence and uptake.
  • Reflect on professional accountability and ensure practice remains safe, current, and evidence-based.
